Ordered Size: 10, Color: Ivory
I am 5’8” and around 140 pounds. I usually wear a size 6 or 8. After reviewing the measurements it said I should order a size 12 as 3 measurements (chest, hips and waist) were an inch larger than those for size 10. I gambled and ordered the size 10 anyway. On my size 10 dress, I ended up taking the waist in at least 2 inches and had the straps shortened as well as gathered a bit to narrow them at the top. It’s still falling off my shoulders a bit but that is easily fixed with doubled sided tape.
I ordered “Ivory” and I think it’s very very close to white. I’m glad I didn’t ordered the white as the ivory softens it just a bit.
I’m having a beach wedding so I’ll be going barefoot. Could have shortened the hem an inch but left it as is since I wasn’t tripping on the hem.
Had I ordered an 8, it might have fit perfectly without alterations but I’m glad I ordered a size up so I could get it more customized to my body.
Ladies who are more petite will probably need to: 1) shorten the straps although having a larger bust might make up the strap height (I’m not endowed with that gift so I had the straps shortened)
2) shorten the hem a bit.
Other concerns I had:
-The website said it was not filled lined. I think that is due to the leg slit. It is very well lined and I did several fittings in dark underwear and printed bras with no hint of being able to see the undergarment prints.
-Can you wear a regular bra? I really, really wanted to wear a regular bra as I hate strapless bras. I am easily able to wear a regular bra with no straps showing anywhere. Since I’m using doublesided tape I’ll probably secure the bra shoulder straps to the dress but it’s not necessary.
I can’t wait to wear the dress for my wedding and will post more photos of the final product after.
I am five ft three and wear traditional 14-16. The only alteration I did to this dress was to shorten the top so it fit my shoulders. The dress I purchased was champagne color. It was absolutely perfect and I received so many compliments on it. My now-husband was taken back because he thought I was so beautiful. I couldn't have asked for better. Thank you so much.
Very nice and good quality for a price, really happy what I got, my big day in a September can't wait to wear this dress.
This dress looks beautiful on the picture so I ordered it but at this price I was not super convinced and thought I could use it for my after wedding party. But actually it fits perfectly and doesn't look cheap at all. I might want to change the lace but it seems easy to do.
